Interview #2

Hello, I am very happy to announce my second interview is with the lovely Abbie. She has her personal blog Abbie's treasures which is always filled with kind and thoughtful words. But she also writes for Lilac Daisies (as do I).
So please give a round of applause to Abbie!

~What was the first blog you ever read/followed?
The first blog I ever read/followed was Cat's blog (Through A Cat's Eyes) after I read a blogging article which featured an interview of her in a magazine called 'Shout'. Before that I kinda gave up on my blogging but after reading about Cat and seeing her blog, that's when I realised that blogging could actually be fun and now it is a passion of mine.

~does any of your real life friends have a blog?
No, not really but one of my friends know I have a blog and she created her own. I don't think she does if anymore though!

~what are your hobbies?
Swimming, writing, being with friends and family, reading, meeting new people, shopping and of course blogging.

~Any pets?
Yes, we have a Maltese dog named Cookie who we adore to bits and immediately became a member of the family.

~What does your family think of you blogging?
Well, my family doesn't really know about my bblog as I never tell them. My friend and her mum knows who was really impressed by blog and one day she was talking to my mum in a supermarket and told her about it. So when my mum got home, she asked if she could have a look and she seemed to like it. She hasn't looked at it since though.
~what is your most prized possession?
Probably my Pandora bracelet my parents gave to me for my thirteenth birthday back in 2011 and I adore it so much.
~Do you have a favourite book/movie/tv programme?
My favourite book is the Twilight Saga, my favourite movie is Titanic and my favourite tv programme is Home And Away.
~Any fears?
Definitely the sight of bees or wasps!!!!!! When I hear their buzzing sounds I literally scream!!
~How did you come up with your blog name?
First it was called 'Abbie Piano' which wasn't a very good title to have for a blog, then it was called 'Life Through The Happiest Moments You Could Ever Imagine' and finally I came up with 'Abigail's Treasures'. I wanted something that reflected to my posts, butterflies - followers..... etc and do feel like treasures, so that's why I called my blog 'Abigail's Treasures'.

~If you could change your blog name to anything what would it be?
Great question...... Ummmmm.... maybe 'Looking Through The Eyes Of A Piano' as I always wonder what it would be like to see through the eye of a piano, so maybe that!!!

~And lastly what is your ambition in life?
My main ambitions of life is to get good marks in the Junior/ Leaving Cert, publish some books, bring out my own clothing range, fall deeply in love and be happy overall!!!! :)

Thank you very much Abbie for being such a wonderful interviewee!!

Blogging instead of finishing my English

What a Rebel!! Even though I had a whole week off last week, I managed to find loads of things to do except my homework. Now, I'm once again left with a whole pile of P-Q-Es to do and a radio talk on the importance of education. Thankfully I finished my novel "Hick Finn" this morning so that's one less thing on my mind. I spent the whole day in Cork. I went shopping in Penneys and saw The Sound Of Music in the Oprah House. It was amazeballs!

I also want to announce the winner of my blog button competition. Thanks to everyone who entered. It was a really tough decision and frequently I changed my mind but now I have come to a decision.
And so the runner up is ............................................... Ruby!
Inline image 1

Yes well done Ruby, well done.

But in 1st place is ................................................... Rachel!

Accio Wonderland - Button Comp.jpg

Congratulations Rachel! Your prize will be a guest post on any topic etc. you want!

Thank you very much for your superb entries. They were excellent!!
I'd better go finish my homework now.. unless someone wants to do it for me. Any takers?

Wednesday

A New Leaf

Today is the first day of Lent. In my religion, this is the beginning of torturous deprivation! Every year, I choose to give up something and begin another. It always ends badly. Mainly me munching on endless Easter eggs because I had restrained my self from any source of sugar for 5 days.
But this year, it will be different! It is a New Leaf! I will stick it out....... hopefully.
So, I figure the only way I will successfully get through it, is  if I turn it into a challenge. If anyone wants to join me just stick this on your blog
A New Leaf
The inspiration behind this challenge came from Kathrine Rae's blog post about 28 days of Love. I really recommend reading it. It made me decide to choose being a better person as my Lent take-up-a-new-thing.
So during these 40 day I will give up chocolate and fizzy drinks and I will take up being a better person.
The New Leaf challenge is based on being a better person.
A few ideas are:
Do yoga
Donate to charity
Learn a new word
Drink 8 glasses of water

I have plenty more that will be posted on my New Leaf page and will also be pinned on pinterest. You can find that board HERE.

So wish me good luck because I will definitely need it!

Tuesday

Pancake Tuesday

I was up at the crack of dawn this morning to make my batter (more like 8:30).
After leaving it in the fridge for an hour or so, I made my first pancake of the day and I really think it's the perfect pancake in the world. Like, seriously! It should be in the Guinness book of records or something!!

Ingredients
125g plain flour
1 egg
1/2 pint of milk
pinch of salt

Method
1. Make a hollow in the flour and put the egg in. Add a little milk and mix together.
2. Add the rest of the milk and combine it all together. Add salt.
3. Place in fridge for at least an hour to let the starch absorb liquid and swell.
4. For cooking, heat a little oil in a frying pan.
5. Pour in desired amount of batter and cook on either side for approx. 2 minutes.
6. Use a spatula to keep pushing the sides in to stop from sticking.
7. Serve with whatever you like and eat!

I also changed the about me page. I'm not sure if anyone really reads it but it's there if you have no idea who I am. This time I decided to actually write about my self instead of going "I am: Marian, girl, 16, likes reading...."
Tell me what you think if you bother to read it. There might be a few spelling/comma mistakes because the check speller isn't working. Sorry!

Have a very happy PANCAKE TUESDAY!

3. In a different bowl make brownie mixture. Melt chocolate and butter, stirring well. Add in sugar.
4. Add the eggs, a little at a time, and beat well. Gently stir in the flour.
5. Spread 2/3 of the brownie mixture into the tin. Pour all of the cheesecake on top. Spoon on remaining brownie mixture in heaps. Use a skewer to create a marbled effect.
6. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Leave in tin to cool, then cut into squares.

Blog Button Competition

Hello, how was your week?
You should all know by now that I have changed my blog name and url to Accio Wonderland.  And with this new revelation, I'm hosting a competition!
A BLOG BUTTON COMPETITION!
So hopefully one of you will pity me and enter (hint hint)

All you will have to do is make a button that represents my blog and with the name on it!
Simple.
Send it to   planetmars008@gmail.com

A few clues:
I like pretty, vintage things. Particularly from we heart it.
I'm not big on bright, luminous things.
I love books, harry potter and the piano.
Wonderland should be represented somewhere on the image but not necessarily.

You can enter as many times as you want.
Closing date is 16th February.
Prize is a guest post and your button will be my official blog button!

Here's a few pictures I thought were cool. Use them, don't use them .... up to you!

Monday

So about the name change...

I've been wanting to change the name of my blog since I ever created one. I do not know what possessed me to call it "inkdropperr"!!! It's not even a word.
But everything seems to be taken.
My top choices for a new name were mainly:
Wonderland
Infinity
Alohomora
Expelliarmus
But of coarse... they had to be TAKEN! (eyes twitch with anger)
So now I have changed it to Accio Wonderland
Accio being a Harry Potter spell for finding or bringing things to you. Wonderland being one of my favourite fairytale places, because I owned, and still do to this day, a huge Alice in Wonderland book with pictures that were actually jigsaws. (I will show you some pictures of it soon because blogger has actually fixed the upload button --- THANK YOU BLOGGER!)
I like both words but I don't know if they go together...
Some inspiration please people! ^_^

Fortune Cookies

In the spirit of the Chinese New Year and also because it was my cousin's birthday, I made Fortune Cookies!

All you need is:
3 egg whites
50g icing sugar
40g butter (melted)
50g plain flour

Method
1.Preheat oven to 200*C. Line a tray with parchment paper and grease that too.
2.lightly whisk egg whites and icing sugar.
3. Add melted butter and flour and beat until smooth.
4. Use a desert spoon to drop the mixture onto tray in circles. Only put about 5 circles of the mixture on the tray at any time. Make sure the parchment paper has been greased so when the time comes you won't scream at the them for sticking.
5. Bake for 6 minutes, until golden.
6. Place a message on the circles and fold over. Fold again and rest it on the rim of a cup/glass.
7. Keep repeating step 4-6 until you run out of mixture.

And seeing as it was my eldest cousin's 30th birthday, I pounced on the opportunity to give her some ... amusing fortunes... ^_^

I think its funny that your birthday coincides with a global economic depression.

I enjoy giving you a birthday card because you are and always will be older than me.

Birthdays are good for you.  Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest.

The secret to staying young is to live honestly, eat slowly and lie about your age.

Happy Birthday Julie!
